About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots and arguing about which mobile games were worth the storage space. At some point the arguments got detailed enough that we figured we should just write them down properly, and the site grew out of that.,We cover every genre because that's how people actually play on their phones — a puzzle on the train, a strategy game before bed, a quick arcade run while the kettle boils. Nobody on the team only likes one kind of game, so the catalog reflects that.,Games get picked for review a few ways: sometimes something is everywhere and we want to know if the hype is real, sometimes a reader points us at a small release, and sometimes one of us just falls down a rabbit hole and can't stop playing. Before anything goes up, at least one editor puts real hours into it.,Nobody pays us to say nice things. If a game frustrates us, we say so, and if it surprises us in a good way, we say that too. That's the whole idea.
Lukas Brandt — Lukas has been reviewing mobile games for the better part of a decade and still keeps a shamefully long backlog on three different phones. He handles most of the RPG and strategy coverage.
