Volcane Spins

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Volcane Spins is one of those puzzle games that looks simple in a screenshot and then quietly eats an hour of your evening. You're given a set of concentric rings, each split into colored segments, and you rotate them so matching symbols end up aligned along the marked paths. The volcano in the background isn't just decoration — as you clear rows the whole scene warms up, with little embers and glow effects that make solving a stage feel satisfying.

Controls are a strict thumb affair, and they work well. You swipe a ring left or right and it snaps cleanly to the next slot, so there's no fumbling. Later levels layer in locked segments and rings that move together, which forces you to think a few turns ahead. I appreciated that the difficulty curve is gentle for the first couple dozen stages and then genuinely makes you stop and plan.

What kept me coming back is how readable everything is. Even when a board looks like chaos, the color language is clear enough that you can spot the solution once your brain clicks into gear. It runs smoothly on older phones too, which is more than I can say for a lot of shiny puzzle games.
